I have found myself making a lot of earrings lately. They are easy to make and it does not take a lot of time to make one pair. I can usually make several pairs in an hour. It is a fun way to relax, or make time pass on nights and early mornings that I cannot sleep. Thanks insomnia! I love big beads. I have an ever-growing collection of them. I wanted to make earrings out of some of them, but the hole in the beads are to big for regular size head pins. The pin slipped out. The spacer beads I have were too small to look right, so I came up with the idea of using sequins! I am pleased with how the earrings turned out! Take a look…
Sequins come in a variety of colors and are fairly inexpensive. You can purchase a pack with hundreds of sequins in the bag. Imagine the many pairs of earrings you can make! I thought this was a neat jewelry making trick, and I wanted to share it with you. Would you like to see more posts with jewelry making tips? If you have any you would like to share, please feel free to email me your ideas to be featured!

I, too, am an avid earring maker. I often use glittery buttons and beads for my earrings. I’ve found a simple way to prevent the glitter from getting all over me when I wear the earrings. I “paint” the glittered surface with Hard as Nails brand of clear nail polish and allow it to dry. The polish keeps the glitter on the earrings but lets the glitz shine through.

What a good idea, I wish I had thought of that?
