cover art of Diane Fitzgerald's Favorite Beading ProjectsAs promised yesterday, I have another giveaway drawing for you to enter! Diane Fitzgerald’s Favorite Beading Projects offers instruction for making 24 of Diane’s favorite class projects. Jean Campbell’s foreword gives many well deserved accolades to Diane for her extensive knowledge of beading history, of beading materials, and teaching approach that encourages students to create their own designs.

Jean says, “Working through any of these projects might feel like attending a special Diane Fitzgerald workshop, but in the comfort of your own bead studio.” As you have already seen with the Fortune Teller Beads Necklace, Diane’s work speaks for itself. Who would want to miss a one-on-one beading lesson with Diane through the wonderful projects in her book?

To enter for a chance to win a copy, please leave a comment telling which of Diane’s previous beading books is your favorite. Sorry the drawing is open to US mailing addresses only. The drawing ends March 10, 2012.

  3. Julie Rininger on February 26, 2012 5:49 pm

I have not been in a book store for years (I know I should hang my head in shame) but I did look up some of her other books online and I think the Diane Fitzgerald’s Shaped Beadwork: Dimensional Jewelry with Peyote Stitch book would be an interesting read.

  16. Donna Condon on February 27, 2012 1:37 am

    I confess!

I am a craft voyeur, always looking but almost never doing and certainly never posting or entering competitions.

As absolute proof of my hidden hermit status, I have read & saved every issue of Craft Gossip for three years – and yet this is the very first time you’ve heard from me. I hide away in my little electronic world and dream of the great things I could do …if only.

    Well, enough is enough!

Diane is a genius – the way she works with colour and texture makes me so excited I needed a little lie down after reviewing this book.

Send it to this little wall flower and let’s see if I can’t bloom! If I can, then anyone can.

I’ve got four Diane Fitzgerald books and I couldn’t possibly choose a favorite between them! They’re all so good, and are so different from each other in terms of the designs featured. What is constant between them all though is the clearly written/illustrated way that the projects are presented. I would be so thrilled to have a copy of her new book to add to the others in my library. Thank you!

  41. Terri Womack on February 27, 2012 4:14 pm

Okay, as like a few others, I do not have a favorite as this is my introduction to her books. When I first saw this book on another list I went to Amazon to check it out and ended up putting two more of her books in my shopping basket. Now for the money to purchase them! Good luck all.

  99. MJ Agles on March 9, 2012 8:57 am

It is this very week that I am venturing into beading… when my eyes landed upon the most marvelous fabric having large clusters of lilacs and celery-green leaves. Instantly! I envisioned bead-work to emphasize the beauty of the arrangement, as well as thread-work.

Such inspiration pulled my muse into another realm of self expression. I found myself pulling what minimal beading books I have in my vast library of the Arts. I feel as if I am a child exploring in the unknown, in complete wonderment of thread and bead. This child really needs more material on the subject before putting hoop to marvelous fabric.

  100. Brenda on March 9, 2012 10:24 am
