Craft Gossip

catharina thomasI love this elegant “DNA Ribbon” necklace by Catharina Thomas.  It is interesting to see seed beads used in a way that makes their design reminiscent of metal work.  You can often find similar designs in gold or silver, but I would imagine that the nature of seed beads gives this necklace much more fluidity than it’s metal counterpart.

I  really like the finishing touch of the pearl as well.

You can find instructions for this pieces on the Fire Mountain Gems website.

Many thanks for complimenting this necklace and design. I indeed sometimes like to use seedbeads as if it was some kind of fluid metal and confirm that the necklace is quite supple.

I am always very happy when my designs are appreciated and adapted by others.
