I was excited when I saw this tutorial Michelle did on her blog “Mich L. in L.A.” These trendy earrings and necklaces were made by using pop-beads! Pop beads became popular in the early 1960’s. A few years ago my Mama introduced me to pop beads and I have loved them ever since. This would be a great project for tweens and teens to do while on Spring Break. Read Michelle’s tutorial “The Humble Pop Bead–Humble No More,” and learn how to add bright colors to your wardrobe with pop beads!

Oh, pop beads were popular before the 80’s, lol. I wore them to church when I was little, or played with my Mom’s…that was in the early 60’s. Then they were afraid little ones would swallow them…
I remember my Mom had some that were in a faceted shape, I think in bright red..you would never know they were pop beads!

Oh wow! Thanks for telling me, I will correct the post and put early 60’s. I would love to see ones that do not look like pop beads! They sound pretty!
