Tagua Nuts

Tagua nut carving created by John HooderA recent post from the Beading Gem made me think to share this tagua nut carving created by John Hooder. If you aren’t familiar with tagua nuts, also known as ivory nuts, you might be missing out on a popular medium for your jewelry work. Like real ivory, the off-white nuts yellow and patina with age when left their natural color. Created using a rotary carving tool from a single nut, this piece measures approximately two inches tall.
