Though it sounds like the name of a great band, the Spill Smiths are doing much more serious work. Marthe Le Van of Lark Crafts Jewelry and Beading reports on The Spill Smiths, a two-part awareness project created in response to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. Part one of the project includes art, jewelry, and a video installation. The event, at Mr. Beast Gallery in Savannah, GA, will be held Nov. 4-9, 2010. Part two is ongoing; an interactive online platform to include a retail store that will help support clean-up efforts. Read more about who the Spill Smiths are and what they are doing in Marthe’s post at the Lark Crafts blog. And if you’ll be in Savannah next weekend, be sure to check things out at Mr. Beast Gallery.
