This is a massive book both in size and content. Much more than just a ‘coffee table’ book, its a true jewelry resource book. I think its probably the best book about Cartier & Company I’ve ever read. This book covers the humble beginnings of the company in Paris till 1980s when Cartier granted Hans Nadelhoffer exclusive access to its archives in order to write the definitive history.
The book contains biographies of the artists, recent history, some famous clients and how the businesses got started and tons of photos. The photos are absolutely breathtaking. My favorite chapter is Chapter 10: Pharoahs, Sphinxes and Pyramids. OH how I covet every piece in that chapter!!
This book is a wonderful addition to any jewelry artists library and is well worth the price.
Amazing photos with fine text. . ; I only wish there were more of them. A MUST!
