Wire jewelry is one of the hottest trends in jewelry making right now. If you are a wire worker or want to be then this book is one you will put on your holiday wishlist.
Wire Style is a collection of fifty designs from an array of some of the top jewlery designers out there. The styles range from fun to fabulous and all are wearable and easy to create. The projects are constructed with a range of materials, from precious metals to plated and colored wire, gemstones to found objects.
The book begins with a primer on basic tools and techniques for getting started so even a novice wireworker will be confident to do the projects. The projects are marked as Level 1, 2 and 3, and run the gamut from bracelets, necklaces, earrings, pendants and even clasps. There are good step-by-step instructions and the wireworking techiques are explained clearly. You will also learn how to antique metal, make chain mail, hammering metal, create spirals, make jump rings, straighten wire, make ear wires, and create clasps. There is also a resource section in the back.
My favorite projects in the book are the “S is for silver” (the cover image), Silver Springs Bracelet, and Dance all Night necklace. Wire Style will have you looping, coiling, weaving and hammering yourself some great jewelry!!!

thanks for posting about that book! i recently have this inkling to develop my artistic talent (in case i do have one) and create my own jewelry gifts for the Christmas season. as such, i’ve been browsing the web for whatever resources or tutorials i can get that will help me with my new-found interest. and this book is definitely one of them! i might start off with the level 1 projects and hopefully be able to proceed with the next levels in time for Valentine’s Day next year!
