Throwback Thursday is a popular trend on social network sites Facebook and Instagram. For those of you that aren’t familiar with the trend, every Thursday people who choose to participate, upload old photographs of family, friends, pets, themselves, whatever they choose. The photographs must be older then that day, thus the name Throwback Thursday. If the photograph is uploaded to Instagram people use the hashtags #Throwback Thursday and #tbt so other users can find their picture. I thought it would be fun to start a series here on the jewelry making blog and post a picture of a piece of jewelry from the past every Thursday for a few weeks and see how it goes. What do you think?
This weeks throwback post is this beautiful 1950’s Demi Parure Necklace and Earring set. This set features pastel tulips in colors lavender, yellow blue, pink, and green. I think it is lovely! Notice the screw back earrings. My Grandma had an old jewelry box with earrings that screwed in the back. I remember as a teenager I was fascinated by them. My Mama said this style of earrings was comfortable to wear.
The gold metal chain makes the pastel colors of the tulips pop. In between the tulips on the gold stems are tiny rhinestones that add to the charm of the necklace. This necklace was sold in 2008 in the shop My Sweetie Pie Pie on Etsy.
Do you have pictures of jewelry from the past you would like to share and have featured in a Throwback Thursday Jewelry from the Past post? Feel free to email them to me. I would enjoy seeing them!
Check back next Thursday for another Throwback Post!

Yes I think it is a great idea, with old jewellery that has sentimental value, I like to redesign them and then the next generation can enjoy their grand parents treasures.
