French beaded flowers – beaded sophistication.  They are easier to make than you would think but visually stunning.  Here is a lovely tutorial for them from Bead Studio. Its an easy project to get obssessed with. Make them tiny for barrettes or earrings, make huge ones for attention catching brooches. You will want to make them in all different colors and bead sizes, trust me-its addictive!

I agree, this tutorial is a fun and lovely project to mak. However the technique that is used is called the “Victorian Method.” It is similar to the ladder technique used in jewelry making.

The ‘French’ Beaded-Flower technique is quite different. Just because a flower is made from wire and beads, doesn’t make it a French Beaded-Flower.

I have always done French-style beading; I didn’t know about Victorian until recently. What I find is that, since I like to use firm wire which is thicker, the wire won’t fit through the beads twice. This project looks so nice that I think I’ll try it! I might be doing both kinds of beading now. Thanks!
